REGIMEN OF SUMMER SEASON (GREESHMA RTUCHARYA)
Mid-May to Mid-July
- Foods that are easy to digest, light, cold and liquid foods which are predominantly sweet in taste should be taken.
- Cool water stored in earthern or mud pots with flowers of patala , camphor should be consumed.
- Consume corn flour mixed with sugar in cold water after taking bath in cold water. This helps to pacify the heat in the body.
- Milk mixed with sugar and cooled in moon light should be consumed.
- Drinks that are sweet, sour, salty like fresh lemon juice, curd mixed with pepper and sugar, water kept in mud pot with khus grass and Rose sharbat can be consumed to mitigate the scorching heat of the body.
- During day time the person may enjoy nap in a cold chamber sleeping over flowers or banana leaf and nights on the terrace having cool and pleasant moon light.
- Anointing the body with pastes of sandalwood and exposure to eastern breeze, wearing pearls and garlands on the body, spending time in forests and in nature surrounded by water reservoirs having flowers are conducible.
- Spend the day remaining inside the house with water fountains nearby, water scented with khus – khus grass and surrounded with sweet smelling and flowers like lotus, jasmine that are cooling in nature.
- Avoid hot, spicy, pungent, heavy, salty and oily foods.
